World Cruise 2015

On January 4, 2015 I leave for Fort Lauderdale, FL to join the 2015 World Cruise that leaves on the 5th of January and returns to Fort Lauderdale on the 30th of April. Please check this site for pictures and information about the cruise.

Voyage of the Vikings, Torahavn, Faroe Islands - Day 13

Today at noon the ship stopped at Torshavn, Faroe Islands. We were traveling in Fog all the way from Iceland. I had a tour planned for the day but I had to cancel it because I have a bad head cold. As a result I did not see any of the town because of the fog and I did not get off the ship. Therefore I have no pictures today.

Voyage of the Vikings, Seydisfordur, Iceland - Day 12

Today the ship arrived at Seydisfjordur, Iceland.  At 7:15, I left on a 7-hour tour called "Fishing Villages & Geology of Iceland".  We left Seydisfjordur and drove into and over the mountains to some small fishing villages.  We saw the rugged landscapes and captivating waterfalls along the way.  We had a lamb dinner at one of the villages and went to three museums, a WW II museum, a rock museum and a boat and fishing museum.  We also went to see a old rock query. To see the query required a long walk up the mountain.  I did not go as I thought it was too much walking.  Much of what we saw in Iceland is similar to Norway with the fjords and small villages. Because of internet problems on the ship I will not to get it updated today.

Voyage of the Vikings, Akureyri, Iceland - Day 11

Today the ship stopped in Akureyri, Iceland. It is the largest city in the northern part of Iceland. The ship arrived a 8 AM and at 8:15 I took a tour called "Lake Myvetn". After about an hours drive we stopped at Godafoss Water Fall, We saw bubbling springs, lava formations all in the vicinity of Lake Myvatn. After 6 1/2 hours we arrived back at the ship.
