Day 5 - World Cruise 2015 (Santa Marta, Colombia)

The ship arrived this morning at Santa Marta, Colombia.  I had to get up early and be ready for my trip at 8:05 called "Tayrona Park Adventure".  This park is tucked into the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range.  We had an hour drive to the park.  To get to the park we did not pass thru the main part of Santa Marta.  What we saw is what I would call the slums.  Along the road was trash of all kinds from furniture, building materials, paper, etc.  When we go to the park, we left the bus and walked for about 1/2 hour along a trail which took us to the sea where we could get some good photos.  Some of the path was dirt and others was wood and stone.  The path took us up hill and down hill several time before we returned to the bus.  There is wildlife in the park but the only ones we saw were two monkeys.  We returned to the bus and headed to the park's restaurant for lunch.  We spent some time at the restaurant before and after we ate before heading back to the ship.  I would have liked to have seen the town but that did not happen as when we had to get back to the ship by 2 PM and we had to be back on the ship at 3:30 PM. 

From 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM was a sail away party and after dinner tonight the show was put on by Paul Adams who is a comedian.
