Today the ship arrived in Singapore. This is my third trip to Singapore. It's an island city-state, a World War II battleground, a global economic superstar, and a crossroads of the world. Though Singapore fell to the Japanese in 1942, it was restored to British role after the war. Internal self-government began in 1959 and in 1963, Singapore became a semi autonomous state with in the Federation of Malaysia. On August 9. 1965, Singapore was separated from Malaysia and became an independent republic within the Commonwealth of Nations. Today Singapore has grown to an affluent and vibrant city that attracts visitors from all over the world.
Overnight I had some Diarrheal so I canceled my tour. That evening I ate in the LIdo because none of my table mates were going to eat in the dinning room. I then went to see the "Magic In the Moonlight" movie, a romantic comedy about an Englishman brought in help unmask a possible swindle.
