Today we are at sea heading toward Thilawa, Rangoon, Myanmar. This morning at "Good Morning Amsterdam" the guest was Nick Lewin who gave the show last night. At 10 AM, a new guest speaker, Milt Keiles presents the beginnings of navigation in the Pacific, moving on to Coastal and finally navigation on the open seas. At 2 PM, another new speaker, Roberta Sloan presented how puppetry has been popular in almost all countries and throughout the ages, but nowhere has it flourished as much as in Asia, and particularly in Indonesia. At 3 PM, the ship had a special afternoon tea in the living memory of the late Mrs. Julia Furston. Julia a long time cruiser with over 1400 days on Holland America Ships developed a problem and died on the ship at her wish.
After dinner the show was put on by Annette Wardell, a singer.
Tomorrow, I leave on a two day, one night overland. We are leaving the ship for the airport for a flight to Bagan. Bagan is one of the richest archeological sites in Asia, with more than 2,000 pagodas, temples and monasteries built during the Bagan Dynasty.
