Today was the second day in Mumbai, India. I left at 9 AM on a tour called "Banganga & Khotachiwadi Heritage". We started the day with a visit to Banganga. It is one of Mumbai's holiest sites and the oldest surviving structures in town. In the center is a pool of holy water surrounded by several small, crumbling, stone-turreted temples and shrines. We drove thru Malabar Hill one of the better places to live in Mumbai and our next stop was a walk thru the neighborhood of Khotachiwadi to view a cluster of Portuguese-style homes that have stood here since the late 17th century of early 18th century. This is a Christian community and we had the honor to enter the home of fashion designer James Ferriera for beverages and light snacks. We drove back to the ship and arrived back at 12:30 PM. On the two days in Mumbai I saw some of the town. They did not drive us through the slum areas of town.
The ship left Mumbai at 9 PM while we were eating dinner.
Tonight after dinner the show was to be put on by Gary Guthman who played the trumpet, but during the first show he did not feel well so the second show was cancelled. A movie took its place but it was 2 1/2 hours long so I went to a Documentary called "Cinema is Everywhere" in the movie theater.
