Day 104 (Part 3 of 3) - World Cruise 2015 (Cadiz, Spain)

Sunday, April 19, 2015

Today the ship arrived in Cadiz, Spain.  Cadiz is the oldest continuously inhabited city on the Iberian Peninsula.  The city, a town of 700,000 people, lies on a narrow stretch of land surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and serves as a main thoroughfare to Seville.  Seville, one of the largest cities in Spain is a 2,000 metropolis home to countless historical monuments.  In Seville is the Cathedral of Saint Mary, the largest gothic cathedral and the third largest church in the world.  At 8:45 AM I left on a tour called "Stunning Seville".  We left Cadiz and passed fields of wheat, grape vines, olive trees  and sugar beets fields along with other crops.  We arrived in Seville and saw many of the building built for the 1929 exhibition.  We started with a walk thru the old Jewish Quarter before we arrived at Alcazar, a monument to the Moorish occupation of Spain surrounded by glorious gardens.  Before lunch we stopped for pictures for  the main site of the 1928 exhibition.  After lunch we left for a tour of the Cathedral of Saint Mary.  After we toured the site we left back to the ship and our bus and another bus on the same tour was an 1/2 hour late arriving at the ship.  At about 6:30 the ship left Cadiz.

After dinner the show was put on by Don Bryan, a Master Ventriloquist.  He was very good and one of the best ventriloquist that I have seen.

Below are part 3 of some pictures from Cadiz and my tour.  See part 1 and part 2 for more pictures.
