Day 97 - World Cruise 2015 (Delphi to Katakolon)

Sunday, April 12, 2015

Today we spent the night at a hotel in Delphi.  This was the third and last day of our 3 day 2 night overland tour.  After breakfast we left the hotel at 8 AM for a drive to Olympia, the site of the first modern Olympic Games in 776 BC.  The drive took us past some scenic sites.  We saw thousands of Olive Trees and other crops including many vegetables.  We also had to cross the worlds 2nd largest suspension bridge to get to Olympia.  We arrived at Olympia but since it was Sunday the site was not open.  At 12 Noon we arrived at the Touris Club and joined the Greek Easter Festivities with lunch and greek dancing.  It was Easter for the Greek Orthodox Church and the Greeks use the Resurrection of Jesus to Party.  At about 2 PM we left the party for a return to the ship at 2:30 PM which was waiting for us at the port at Katakilon, Greece.  The ship left Katakilon, Greece at about 6 PM.

After dinner the show was put on by Mel Mellers, a magician.

Below are some pictures taken on my overland tour, the Greek Easter Festivities and Katakolon.
