Today the ship arrived at the area to get inline to transit the Suez Canal. The ship was in place to get inline before 8 AM in order to begin transit at 11 AM. The ship had to use lots of fuel to get here this early. The ship did not get a time of 11 AM but had to take a 3 PM time to begin to transit of the canal. At a little after 3 PM we started to get in line and it was 4:15 PM before we actual got to the entrance of the canal. By 6 PM it was too dark for pictures so I returned to the cabin to get ready for dinner. It was 3 AM before the ship left the canal. It was the second time that I have been thru the Suez Canal. I don't remember if I saw the entire canal in daylight but I was somewhat disappointed that we did not have more daylight in the canal. However the Captain explained that due to some construction going on in the canal there was no alternate that could have been done in order to get to Israel on time.
After dinner the show was put on by La Musica. They are a singing married couple that performed popular hits to traditional classics. The man also played the piano and at one time sang a leading role in the "Phantom of the Opera."
Below are pictures taken on the transit of the Suez Canal.
