Today we are at sea sailing towards Semarang, Java, Indonesia. We gained another hour but I did not notice it until I was up and dressed so I went to an early breakfast. At 9:30 AM, I went to "Good Mourning Amsterdam". The guest was Lance Ringnald, the olympic gymnast who put on the previous nights show. At 10 AM, Barbara gave a talk on the things to see and do in Phuket, Port Klang and Penang. At 2 PM George Sranko gave a talk on the Romance and Mystery of the Coral Reefs.
At 7 PM tonight my tour company, Cruise Specialists has a cocktail party. I went to dinner and the show tonight was put on by Metro a cappella group originally hailing from the USA.

Day 53 - World Cruise 2015 (Benoa, Bali, Indonesia)
Friday, February 27, 2015
The ship spent the night at the Benoa Harbor. At 9 AM I went on a tour called "Munduk Highlights". The tour was a lot of driving and it went into the center of the island of Bali. We drove for an hour before we arrived at the Sangeh Monkey Forest. This part of the tour was a walk thru the forest which contained towering nut meg trees and hundreds of monkeys. The monkeys were used to being fed and they were all over the ground. The monkeys were jumping on our shoulders and two of the monkeys jumped on my shoulders. We were told to not touch the monkeys and I heard that they will take glasses so I held on to mine. We then got back on the bus and drove about 1 1/2 hours passing rise fields for a photo stop at the twin lakes of Buyan and Tamblingan located 4,000 feet above sea level in the crater of Mt. Catur. At 1:00 PM we stopped for lunch at the Bali Handara Golf and Country Club. We left lunch at 1 :45 PM and stopped at the Pura Ulun Danu Temple located on Lake Bratan and which is dedicated to the water goddess. We left the temple at 2:30 and stopped for 1/2 hour at a market before heading back to the ship. We arrived at the ship at 5 PM and the ship left the port at 6 PM for the next stop at Semarang, Indonesia. The tour was long and it passed thru many villages. We saw some rice fields and lots of monuments. The Island of Bali is 90% Hindu and we saw many statues and temples. In many places the traffic was heavy with the cars and busses moving along and around the motor bikes. It is also home to many of the wait staff and cabin attendants that are on the ship. Some of them brought on their families for a visit.
Tonight the show was put on by Lance Ringnald. He was an Olympic Gymnast champion in 1988 and 1992. He showed us some of the skills he still has at 42 years old and he even played the piano and did a little singing. It was a good show.
