Today the ship arrived in Albany, Australia. This is my second time in Albany. Albany is the oldest continuous settlement in Western, Australia and until the construction of Fremantle Port in 1897 it was the ply deep water port in Western, Australia. Albany is cool and wet with a Mediterranean climate. Albany is an export city for grain and wood chips.
At 9:30 AM, I left on a tour called "Princess Royal Fortress". The Princess Royal Fortress was once Australia's western stronghold for the British Crown. The fortress here dates back to 1893 and was the first federal defense building in Australia. It was built on a strategic location atop Mt Adelaide, with excellent views over the sea. On the grounds is located a museum of ANZAC or Australia and New Zealand Army Core. This museum has history of WW I Australia and New Zealand fighting in Europe. After a tour of the site we arrived back to the ship at noon. I had lost a screw that holds the lens in my glasses so I took the shuttle downtown and found a place that could repair my glasses. I got that done and went to the post office and bought some Australian stamps.
The ship left Albany at 5 PM. That evening the ship had a special dinner for The Chinese New Year. I finished dinner in time for the first show. The show tonight was the second show for The Aussie Boys who are three men who sing a variety of songs.
Below are some pictures from Albany.
