Day 34 to Day 35 - World Cruise 2015 (At Sea)

Sunday, February 8, 2015

Today the ship is at sea sailing towards Sydney, Australia. Overnight we gained another hour so I had an extra hour of sleep.

Today turned out to be a busy day. It was Sunday so at 9 AM, I went to Church on the ship, at 10 AM, I went to a talk by Barbara on Things to See and Do in Sydney and at 11 AM, Gerald McCormack gave a talk on how Modern Australia was formed by the Federation of six Colonies of Britain. On Sundays, the ship has a Sunday Brunch so at noon I went and tried it out. At 2 PM, Melvyn Foster gave a talk of early Australia from the arrival of the convicts and the rise of the outlaws to some of the strangest creatures on the planet. At 3 PM, Peter Cousens, the singer gave a concert.

Before dinner Stephen Kent gave an introduction to Australia's Iconic Aboriginal instrument called the Didgeridoo and after dinner the show was put on by Gabe Abelson, a comedian and mentalist.

Today the ship is at sea sailing towards Sydney, Australia. Overnight we gained another hour so I had an extra hour of sleep.

Today started out after breakfast with "Good Morning Amsterdam". The guest today was Dhinawan the Cultural Ambassador from Tribal Australia and Stephen Kent. They are on board to give Didgeridoo Lessons and teach dance and history of the Aboriginal People. At 10 PM, Barbara talked about things to see and do in Melbourne and at 11 AM, Dhinawan the Cultural Ambassador from Tribal Australia brought alive the stories of the Aboriginal People. In the afternoon at 2 PM, Gerald McCormack recounts how in May of 1942, the Sydney harbor was attacked by a flotilla of Japanese submarines and at 3 PM Sriani & Craig gave a repeat of their dance performance that they were going to give on Saturday but was cancelled because of the sea conditions.

Tonight after dinner the show was given by Black Tie, a Cabaret Group from Australia. This group also performed on the cruise two years ago and is very popular. The group consists of two married couples. One women plays the piano and the other women plays the Cello. The two men are brothers and sing and talk back and forth. They have received Australia's highest accolade, the Mo Award, for Best Cabaret Group.
