World Cruise 2017 Day 92 Mykonos, Greece

Today the ship arrived at Mykonos, Greece at 8 AM. At 9 AM I left on a tour called "Insider's Mykonos". We had a short drive on the bus and we got off the bus for a walking tour of Mykonos. Mykonos is a old town and the area we walked in was built in the 16^th and 17^th century. All the buildings were painted white. The reason for the walking tour is that no bus and in some places cars could not go between the old buildings. We walked up a few stairs and visited a museum. We left the museum and walked thru the narrow streets and passed stores with living quarters above the store and also several churches. We made a stop at a bakery and made our way over to see some old windmills. We then walked down the hill and stopped for a drink and a snack. The guide left us at 11:30 AM. We were free to shop or return to the ship. It was a 20 minute walk to the bus and I took my time and walked to the bus and returned to the ship. Tonight a award winning and Internationally acclaimed guitarist name Dmitris Dekavallas was the show after dinner.

Mykonos is a Greek island, part of the Cyclades, lying between Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos. The island spans an area of 85.5 square kilometres (33.0 sq mi) and rises to an elevation of 341 metres (1,119 feet) at its highest point. There are 10,134 inhabitants (2011 census), most of whom live in the largest town, Mykonos, which lies on the west coast. The town is also known as Chora (i.e. the Town in Greek, following the common practice in Greece when the name of the island itself is the same as the name of the principal town).
